The States of Our Union Release Event: How Administrations Work with State and Local Partners to Achieve Change

The Partnership for Public Service’s Center for Presidential Transition® and Deloitte spoke with officials from the current and last three presidential administrations as well as associations representing state and local interests to develop a resource for a presidential administration starting a new term—or repositioning for a second term—to set itself up for successful relationships with state and local partners.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, the Center released the new resource titled, “The States of Our Union: How Administrations Work with State and Local Partners to Achieve Change.” At the release event, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, former Governor Larry Hogan, and Center Director Valerie Boyd discussed how intergovernmental relationships affect an administration’s ability to make progress and the practices that lead to effective collaboration.
