Ensure implementation of a new online database of appointee information
In 2022, with strong support from the Center, Congress passed a law requiring the Office of Personnel Management to create an online, modernized, yearly updated directory of political appointees and other senior career officials. Previously, the directory was produced once every four years, becoming quickly outdated. The Center’s vast body of research on appointees is a key resource for OPM and other agencies as they implement this law.
