WASHINGTON – The nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service released the following statement from President and CEO Max Stier following reports that Jeff Zients will serve as President Joe Biden’s next chief of staff.

“Jeff Zients is an exceptional public servant whose focus on good management and record of navigating national crises has perfectly equipped him to succeed as the next White House chief of staff. Through his leadership of the 2020-21 presidential transition, his work guiding the nation through the COVID-19 pandemic and in other critical administration roles, Jeff has demonstrated a powerful commitment to good government and unwavering support for the federal workforce. The Partnership for Public Service congratulates Jeff on his return to public service and wishes him success in this new role.”

Stier continued, “The Partnership also thanks Ron Klain for his dedicated service and his fierce support of the career civil service during his tenure as chief of staff.
