We are excited to welcome him to thisnew role.” Over the past 20 years, the Partnership’s leadership development programs have provided over 30,000federal employees with the skills to drive change and achieve results at their agencies. The Partnershiphas also developed the Public Service Leadership Model to help government leaders take advantage of theopportunity they have been given to improve our country. In his new role, Marshall will oversee thestrategy, design and delivery of the Partnership’s leadership development programming, including theExcellence in Government Fellows program and the Foundations in Public Service Leadership program. “No institution matters more than our federal government,” said Marshall. “And after many yearsdeveloping leaders at all levels, I am also just as certain that nothing makes a greater difference inbuilding a better government than effective leadership. It is an honor to work every day to strengthenpublic service leadership and I am optimistic about what’s ahead.” A certified executive coach, Marshall has experience developing leaders and leadership teams in theprivate, nonprofit and public sectors, from aspiring supervisors to executives. Beyond his 10years working at the Partnership, his management experience comes from years in journalism, communitydevelopment and as the executive director of a philanthropic consulting organization. Valerie Smith Boyd joins the Partnership after more than 15 years of leadership experience in the federalgovernment and private sector, including serving as assistant secretary for international affairs and deputychief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security. She previously served at the White House andNational Security Council under two presidents. “Valerie brings a deep understanding of the importance of capable political leadership working in concertwith career civil servants across administrations,” said Blockwood. “Her experience serving in seniorpositions under presidents of both parties makes her well equipped to continue the Center for PresidentialTransition’s vital work safeguarding our country’s exceptional tradition of the peaceful transfer ofpower.”The Partnership for Public Service’s Center for Presidential Transition serves as the premier nonpartisansource of information and resources to help presidential candidates and their teams lay the groundworkfor a new administration or for a president’s second term.
