Partnership for Public Service Statement on Trump Transition Chairman Announcement

WASHINGTON—Partnership for Public Service President and CEO Max Stier released the following statement on Donald Trump’s appointment of Gov. Chris Christie as his transition chairman:

“Running the country is a Herculean task. To be ready, candidates must start preparing now. By publicly announcing a transition chairman today, Mr. Trump has taken an important first step in preparing to lead,” Stier said.  “Candidates need someone they can trust to manage an enormously complicated process while the campaign team focuses on winning the election.”

The nonprofit, nonpartisan Partnership for Public Service launched the Center for Presidential Transition on January 20, 2016, providing the resources necessary to successfully execute a presidential transition and providing guidance to campaign leadership, federal agencies, and the outgoing administration on best practices.
