Position Overview

As the head of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the president and chief executive officer directs all activities of OPIC and is responsible for managing its operations in a manner that not only reflects the board’s policies but the congressional and administration directives.

Compensation

Level III $165,300 (5 U.S.C. § 5314)1 The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017 (Public Law 115-31, May 5, 2017), contains a provision that continues the freeze on the payable pay rates for certain senior political officials at 2013 levels during calendar year 2017.

Position Reports to

The president of the corporation shall serve at the pleasure of the president. (22 U.S.C. § 2193)

Management Scope

Primary Responsibilities

® Directs all activities of OPIC and is responsible for managing its operations
® Except as limited by actions of the board, makes rules and regulations respecting the corporation and its business, and may delegate all or part of this authority
® Maintains liaison with the White House, other agencies of government, members of Congress, U.S. ambassadors, officers of foreign governments, and domestic, international and foreign business3 OPM
